Again… how time flies! I cannot believe it’s already Thursday, AGAIN! It has been such a busy February. In fact, 2014 has been filled with a whole lot of “busy” days, but am I complaining? NEVER! My heart is full of gratitude, and I cannot thank God enough for all His blessings.
Now, let’s get onto my “Gratitude” post!
Here’s how these posts will work:
I will list anywhere between 1 to 10 things, people, happenings, whatever it is I am grateful for on a weekly basis. On days when I feel extra grateful for something/someone special in particular, I will dedicate that post entirely to it/her/him.
February 27, 2014 Grateful Heart “SPOTLIGHT”
Today’s “Gratitude List” will be dedicated to a single person. This person has been nothing short of a miracle, a true blessing from above, my best friend, the love of my life, my anchor, my rock.
I’m not one to be super romantic or mushy, but God has put it in my heart to express my gratitude for my husband today. Expressing my feelings have always been easy for me, but I have struggled with showing my “romantic” side. I just cringe at the thought of super mushy lovey dovey stuff (contrary to popular belief – to those who know me very well on a personal level).
Regardless, I’d like to take time out of our busy lives to say a great, big, HUMONGOUS ***THANK YOU*** to the man who works hard with minimal complaining, is always willing to lend a hand, wakes up early in the morning to spend quality time with God, tries really hard not to laugh at my lame jokes but ends up cracking up, takes great care of me when I’m feeling sick/emotional/exhausted, shares my joys, loves action/war movies as much as I do, picks out romantic comedies to watch on a Friday night, knows exactly what to do when I’m feeling gray, loves on our furbabies who mean the world to me, tries his best to repair broken things, loves on me when I can’t seem to love myself, never gives up on me, supports me, and most importantly, loves our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
It is impossible not to praise God for blessing me with such an honorable and respectable man. We’ve had our fair share of bumps in the road, and I’m sure there will be plenty more of rainy days in our marriage. I pray God will continue to be the foundation of our bond and that He will see us through during times of darkness, sadness, even happy moments, and in life through and through.
With that I’d like to end on this note…
Try your best to see the GOOD in your spouse. We are not perfect, but as long as we are willing to fight for each other, constantly put in work to better ourselves, never give up, God will pull us through whatever storm that may come our way. Everyone’s circumstances are different, so be prepared to intently listen to God’s voice – really listen to what He is trying to tell/show you. His plans may not be your fairy tale ending, but I believe God knows what’s best for us. Be grateful for the love you have been blessed with and never take things for granted. You are not guaranteed tomorrow.
What are you grateful for today? Please do share!
